Gabrielle Coco Chanel, actually Gabrielle Chasnel, was born on August 19, 1883 in Saumur, on the Pays de la Loire. Unfortunately she died in Paris on January 10, 1971. She was an internationally known French fashion designer and entrepreneur.
Coco Chanel founded the Chanel fashion empire in the early 1910s and is considered an outstanding figure in fashion history.
Due to her influence on the fashion world (especially high fashion), she was named the only member of her professional group and one of the most influential people of the 20th century by the American magazine Time: Time 100: The Important People in the 20th Century.
Since 1913 she has been a pioneer in functional women's fashion. At that time it was almost revolutionary. You found the calf skirt or the airy pants, the loose belt top and the short hair for self-confident modern women.
In the 1920s, Coco Chanel created a little black dress that is still a classic of women's fashion.
