Rumi's influence crosses national borders and ethnic divisions: Iranians, Tajiks, Turks, Greeks, Pashtuns and other Central Asian Muslims Muslims have attached great importance to his spiritual heritage on the Indian subcontinent over the past seven centuries.
Most of his poems have been translated into many languages around the world. In the United States, Rumi is known as "the most popular poet" and "the best-selling poet".
Rumi's works are mainly written in Persian, and occasionally Turkish, Arabic and Greek are used in his verses. His "Mathnawi" in Konya is considered one of the greatest poems in the Persian language. His works are often read in their original language in Greater Iran and Persian-speaking countries. The translation of his work is particularly popular in Turkey, Azerbaijan, the United States and South Asia.
