Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill lived from November 30, 1874 to January 24, 1965 and was a British politician, officer and writer.

From 1940 to 1945 he was British Prime Minister when he led the country to victory in World War II and resumed from 1951 to 1955.

With the exception of the two years from 1922 to 1924, Churchill was a member of parliament from 1900 to 1964 and represented a total of five constituencies. Ideologically speaking, he is an economically liberal and imperialist man. He was a member of the Conservative Party for most of his career and was chairman from 1940 to 1955.

From 1904 to 1924 he was a member of the Liberal Party. Churchill was born into a wealthy noble family in Oxfordshire.

Churchill is considered one of the most important figures of the 20th century and is still very popular in Great Britain and the Western world. He is considered a victorious war leader and played an important role in defending liberal democracy in Europe and preventing the spread of fascism.

He is also known as a social reformer and writer. His numerous awards include the Nobel Prize in Literature.
